Congratulations, all that hard work and now it’s free to find its place in the world! Our indie bookshop (Fourbears Bookshop) is probably too tiny to schlep all the way to Reading for but I’ve heard amazing things about the other events and I can’t wait to read my copy, oh and the Encounter app is such an achievement so well done all round!

Many congratulations Melissa, I hope it's a huge success for you.

Hopefully gonna come along to the Fram event - what time does it begin?

congratulations! in the US, but traveling to the UK in the fall, so will buy a copy then. and loved the interview with Josie.

Thank you, Anne! Failing that, there will be a US edition in October 🙂

Hooray! I am very much looking forward to this. Alas, in my haste I ordered via the dreaded Bezos-run monster, so it's currently waiting for me on my Kindle back home - but once I know if I'm going to be in one place for a bit longer (a possible hop abroad is on the cards) I will grab a paper copy via all the right channels.

Also, your boots are amazing.

Melissa Harrison's avatar

Ha, thank you. Like a fishmonger’s. Or an ice skater.

Mike Sowden's avatar

I will have it delivered by owl.

Anything less would be a let-down.

Oh, you meant your boots. I thought you meant "the right channels". (If fishmongers and ice skaters were distributing your novels these days, that sounds a very healthy way to fight back against our tech overlords. Maybe that needs to happen.)

No, your boots are a bit Space 1999, and I think that is an excellent thing indeed.

Congratulations! See you at a London event!

Congratulations Mel - I've ordered it and can't wait to dive in. I love your writing in all its forms and I'm slightly confident this won't be rubbish so don't let me down or I'll tell everyone

“Slightly confident” - words to live by! Thanks Mark. It’s been a MISSION. x

Huge congratulations on Publication Day! And what a lovely piece about your cottage! That key!

Melissa Harrison's avatar

It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? There’s no slipping that in your leggings pocket on a run!

Nicola Chester's avatar

Ha ha, no! Had a door lock that was the size of a child’s shoebox once. But the key was smaller than yours!

Congrats Melissa! I’m looking forward to reading it x

Many congratulations Mel. I’ve enjoyed reading all the interviews and getting to know you better, and now I’m looking forward to the book dropping through my letterbox.

Interested to hear from others about Toppings in York. This is news to me but I’m not too far away so I’ll look into it and will definitely make a beeline (especially if you venture into the North)!

Melissa Harrison's avatar

Thanks Sue, I hope you enjoy it!

Yay! Will be at the Holt Bookshop event. Wish I'd known about the Bookseller Crow one as I'd have come to that too 😃

Melissa Harrison's avatar

Ha, I think that one is enough! 😆

My pre-ordered Copt is waiting for me to collect from a local, friendly independent bookshop, Skylark & Teasel in Dorchester and am looking forward to settling down to open the cover, nothing but nothing matches the smell and heft of a much anticipated hardback book! Wishing it and you every success Mel.

Thank you so much, Anne! 💙
